Hello, today I want to make an entry advertising this new art school in Granada: Espacio Arte
It is a new academy where you can learn flamenco guitar, dance, cante and baile. Also other activities they promote and that it has nothing to do with flamenco (tango, salsa dance, etc)
Why am I doing free advertising for them? Simple, my teacher works there and he needs students.

Rafael (Rafalín) Habichuela, nephew of Juan, Pepe and Luis Habichuela was born in the Albaicín in 1961. He started playing guitar at 10. As an early aficionado, he entered flamenco as a a little cantaor in la Peña la Platería. When his voice started to suffer sudden changes he picked up the guitar. And never stopped since.

As a professional he started performing in the zambras as a Bailaor and not as a flamenco guitarrist, not  until later.
He passed through most of the zambras of Granada and accompanied great cantaores like Menese, José Mercé, Carmen Linares, Pansequito, Juanito Villar and Enrique Morente, also Aurora Vargas, Cancanilla de Marbella, El Indio Gitano, Curro Andrés, Rafaela Gómez, Alfredo Tejada, etc.


Rafel teaches in Espacio Arte academy for 60 € a month. But due to the economic situation here in Spain, he has not many students at all. We are talking about a guy which has a lot to offer for a good price. Many of you, the ones that live outside Spain and don't have the chance to get about with a good teacher, would be willing to pay 60 euro for receiving classes from an Habichuela, I'm sure of that. We talking about an old dinasty of top flamenco players.
His classes are group classes, do you know how many are we? 2 persons, in the whole city of Granada, just 2 people are the pupils he has. Me and a girl which is just starting, we don't even match in level. But we are together, obviously, because we are not enough to make different class groups. 

I wanted to share this information in case someone is comming to Granada and is interested on receiving flamenco guitar clases for a good price. I know many of you have asked where to go and learn when you come to Spain. Well let me tell you, (I know people from Sevilla will kill me for saying this :)), the best accompaniment guitarrists are breed and forjed in Granada! And that is a fact, jejeje!

Hola muy buenas, hoy quiero hablar sobre una academia artística aquí en Granada que ha abierto relativamente hace poco: Espacio Arte
En esta academia se puede aprender cante, guitarra, baile y percusión flamencas. Además de otra serie de actividades artísticas que nada tienen que ver con el flamenco. (tango, salsa, etc).
¿Cómo es que estoy anunciando esta academia en el blog por la cara? Muy simple, mi profesor de guitarra trabaja allí, no tiene suficientes alumnos.

Rafael (Rafaelín) Habichuela, sobrino de Juan, Pepe y Luis Habichuela nació en el Albaicín en 1961. Empezó con la guitarra a los 10 años. Aficionado temprano, entró en el flamenco como joven cantaor en la peña la Platería hasta que su vocecilla cambió, su curiosidad entonces le guió a la guitarra.

Como profesional se inició en arte del baile en la zambras de Granada, no fue hasta tiempo después cuando tuvo la oportunidad de acompañar a la guitarra. Rafaelín se ha curtido en las zambras del Sacromonte y ha acompañado a cantaores tales como Menese, José Mercé, Carmen Linares, Pansequito, Juanito Villar and Enrique Morente, also Aurora Vargas, Cancanilla de Marbella, El Indio Gitano, Curro Andrés, Rafaela Gómez, Alfredo Tejada, etc.

Rafael enseña en la academia Espacio Arte por unos 60 € al mes. Pero apenas tiene alumnos debido a la situación que ya todos conocemos y que está travesando nuestros bolsillos, debido al (mal)hacer de algunos que se supone deben guardar los intereses de todos y no los particulares.


Rafaelín Habichuela tiene mucho que ofrecer por un precio muy módico. Estamos hablando de una de las dinastías más consagradas del flamenco, no sólo en Granada, también España. 
Sé que mucha gente si pudiera no dudaría en recibir clases de Rafael, y está claro que cuando no se puede, no se puede. No obstante, quiero anunciarlo en el Blog por si alguien no estuviera enterado de sus clases.
